In a study involving 133 overweight women, those with a genetic predisposition to benefit from a low-carbohydrate diet lost 2 1/2 times as much weight as those on the same diet without the predisposition. Similarly, women with a genetic makeup that favored a low-fat diet lost substantially more weight than women who curbed fat calories without low-fat genes. The women were followed for a year. Healthy snippets Feb 17th 2010.Jennifer Hudson will soon play in a South Africa based Movie,Winnie. She has lost 56 pounds to play Winnie Mandela in the movie. And the reason I write this today in my blogs because she did not use any pills or some magic diet but she exercised and stayed consistent to by eating right. It all gets down to exercise and eating right. Here are her own words “I’ve been exercising and trying to stay consistent,” she says. “I’m jogging and eating right.” The 28-year-old mother, singer and actress admits it’s not always easy sticking to the plan but the moment she feels the urge she,goes for it. It is very clear and well know  even though we want to avoid it that weight loss is very possible if you get some lifestyle changes going. A study by Bloomberg reported on Feb 10 2010 has indicated that weight loss surgery is now more effective in providing a weight loss alternative to severely obese teens. The surgery involved being fitted with Allegan lab band device.

Since most people do not follow through with lifestlye changes to lose weight, weight loss surgery is on the rise in the US. And with childhood obesity and teen obesity on the rise, these is an urgent need for such drastic measures. Children, teens and adults who are overweight have an increased risk of obesity. And believe me obesity and its effects will cripple the health-care system if it is not tackled now.

This is a section from a report on the weight loss surgery in business week about the study; For the study, researchers at Melbourne’s Monash University followed 50 adolescents ages 14 to 18 over two years. All participants were deemed severely obese, having a body mass index, or BMI, greater than 35. Half were randomly selected for gastric banding and the remainder was asked to follow an individualized diet and exercise plan.

After two years the results indicated that the group who underwent the weight loss surgery lost more weight than the ones who followed a change in lifestyle.

It is important to note that weight loss surgery is not for everyone and with rising health care costs, instilling good eating habits and exercise in our children life is very important. I thought that it was crazy to fast for days to try and lose weight ( I try some fasting thought to cleanse the body and help accelerate my weight loss, but not to use it to lose weight ), but my oh my, there are other better crazy ways. In Hongkong, people are eating worm eggs to try and lose weight. There are diet products being hawked in Hongkong that look so gross and one of the major component in there are worms. GROSS. Welcome, this is yet another post in my ongoing series of my six week weight loss program. This is week five and here I will combine all the strategies together to offer you a quick weight loss strategy. In summary we have been through the following steps.

Wk1 how to lose weight in six weeks-the plan

Wk 2 Breakfast smoothie to reduce cravings and help lose weight.

Wk 3 Intensive cardio workout to help body burn fat and lose weight fast.

Wk4 Weight lifting for continuous weight loss.

In week 5 I want to combine week two to week four together into a daily schedule.

If you follow my strategies, then I suggest that you do the exercise in the morning for two very practical reasons. You will burn more fat, since you do the exercise before eating, you are using stored fat and in addition doing the exercises in the morning makes you get it out of your mind and over with. You will feel more energized and feel good that you have taken care of YOU before you take care of others, and this is a good thing.

So here is the plan.

Waking up and drinking your water, warm water, add some lemon if you feel like it. Getting out of the door and doing a good running or walking for thirty minutes, sweat, sweat and sweat.

Then in reference to weight loss with weight lifting in week three. Do some weight lifting for another twenty minutes. Make sure the arms get spaghetti to continue burning fat the whole day.

Drink plenty of fluids and wait for one hour before eating.

Make the super duper weight loss-reduce cravings breakfast smoothie and drink before you take your coffee or tea. Avoid all sugar filled, empty calorie, mystery stuff, like doughnut and soda. If you must have something sweet, the try dried fruits or orange juice.

This is how I was able to lose weight in six weeks. Weight loss is an honor to your body and your body will love you for giving that honor.

If you need help, there are some online weight loss programs that can help you stay on track, they have forums and places people do exchange ideas. Some of the online program that you can check and sample are these;

Know that once you get rid of the sugars and replace them with food suggestions I have in week one, then you are on the right track to losing weight fast.

This is week four on my six week weight loss program. We have covered week one which is the laid out plan on how to lose weight in six weeks and week two is my famous weight loss breakfast smoothie. In week three I looked at working out with cardio, one of the fastest ways to lose weight fast. In week four I will share with you how I incorporated weightlifting to help me lose weight and move from dress size sixteen to dress size eight in six weeks. It is my sincere hope that this will help you, like it did for me.

After two weeks of intensive cardio and continuously taking the breakfast smoothie which helped reduce my cravings, I started doing some weight lifting. I had never before done any weight lifting so I started with light weight dumbbells and moved on to heavier ones as I went one. There is no rule here.

There are many workouts that you can do, I got my work out ideas online and by reading books like the and then doing them. The one thing I did was to lift the weights until my arms went spaghetti, this means that my arms could not carry anything anymore, the muscles are done. Here is a simple work out from you tube that I do, it is easy and works really well even for women.

Important: Just like in the intensive weight loss cardio, make sure you lift the weights until your arms get so weak, this way your muscles will continue burning the fat, long after you have stopped doing exercises, it will burn fat the whole day, that is the joy of lifting weights. Another thing with weight lifting is to do them while your stomach is tucked in, contract the stomach, this helps lose belly fat. I will discussing more about belly fat later.
