Plastics contain BPA associated, which is now associated to cancer in humans. In addition it is now claimed that plastics are making you fat and leading to the rise in obesity. The milwaukee journal has reported in its ongoing investigations. It is believed that The BPA in plastics act on genes, change the original cells into fat cells. Of course we know the common culprits like lack of exercise and poor food choices are making us fat. But now it is becoming clear that there is more to the mix, environmental chemicals. It seems some younger people may be exercising, eating right but still seem to keep on adding weight. So it may be that chemicals like BPA in plastics are the culprits here. Stay safe, drink from glasses or use plastic bottles with recycling symbols of number 2,4 or 5. There was an earlier report sometime back that leaving your water in the car for long hours make the BPA seep into the water more. Most water bottles are made with number 1 and are meant for one time use. So if plastic in water bottles are making me fat, I think it will be safer for me to drink directly from a tap or use the aluminum bottle. Or better carry my own water from home, it is cheaper and safer.
