Like a writers block, you can also have a weight loss block. These are my own thoughts, but they might be true in a way. This occurs when you continue to exercise and your body does not seem to respond. You are not losing any more weight.

Welcome, this is week six in my series, my six week weight loss plan also called, move down four dress sizes in six weeks. I am sharing my weight loss journey, what I did and continue to do and you can apply it too.

We have already looked at eating a heavy breakfast to reduce cravings and lose weight. I also shared the tricks to max out your cardio and drop the pounds fast, I also introduced weight lifting to burn more calories and lose weight in week four. In week five I combined all the three and offered a combined working plan on how you can use all the strategies to lose weight.

However, I found out that you can do all that and reach a level where you exercise and you do not lose any weight, I call it the weight loss block. This happens and such is the time when people give up on the well intended weight loss goals or plans. I have been there and I love to lose pounds when I exercise, it is the reward I should get.

One way to unblock the weight loss block is to FAST. Yes you heard me, fast. Fasting is simply going without food for a period of time for a certain benefit to the body. This is not starving your body to lose weight, like some people do, this is denying your body calories to force it to burn the stored fat, you do it consciously.

Caution!!! You must do this if you are healthy, have no health conditions and not on nay medications.  CONSULT WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN. You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.  You must be old enough to make such decisions.

Now, here is the thing, people do not consult their physician and then they have an excuse for not taking action. Let us be honest, if you are healthy and going on with your daily activities, eating well and exercising, then go ahead and have a fast, it will not kill you.

Here is what I do, I give myself a water fast for one day. Find a day when you are not going to be super active and fast for one day, drinking water. If you cannot do this, drink homemade fresh carrot juice for the day.Or if you are like my neighbor from India, eat only raw fresh vegetables the whole day.  The fasting will unblock your body to make it start burning more fat again.

Caution again!! Do not eat junk after the fast, grab some fresh juice and vegetables and eat, slowly break the fast. Or have the breakfast smoothie. You can have the smoothies anytime, even at night if you break the fast in the evening.

I hope you can try it out. Remember people have stayed in the rubble for eight days without food, a self imposed fast, is very easy, considering that you are doing it for YOU.
